When I reviewed the Premium Range Protein Coffee from Body Building Warehouse, they asked if I would like to ask the team 5 questions.
Of course I did! Who would turn down an opportunity to ask a dedicated team of fitness experts and fanatics on how to increase my workout and results potential.
I tried to ask questions that would not only help me, but would be of interest to you too – especially if you are new to a fitness regime, or not quite sure where to start.
Hopefully you will find the answers as useful as I did!
What tips would you give for someone who is just starting out with a fitness regime?
Do your research and don’t be scared to seek help. Focus on your main muscle groups to start and concentrate on a different set each time you train. There are a lot of different routines you can pick up from the internet and YouTube is a great way to check on how to perform exercises and make sure your form is correct if you don’t have access to a personal trainer. Remember that you can’t out train a bad diet so make sure your nutrition is also on point.
What protein is best to take before bed?
Casein is a slow releasing protein and is ideal before bed. It is naturally packed with muscle-building BCAAs and will feed your muscles over an 8hr period.
How many times a week would you recommend someone train for best weight loss/tone results?
We would recommend 4-5 days a week training for optimal results. Your body needs rest days to recover so make sure that you do have a couple of days off a week so not to exhaust your body and cause injury.
Do you recommend taking any supplements whilst training (in addition to protein shakes)?
In addition to a protein shake it’s recommended that you use a good BCAA powder to sip throughout your workout. This will help your body recover quicker which will reduce your DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness). You can also sip this throughout the day to increase your protein intake. A good multivitamin is also advised to ensure your body is getting all the necessary vitamins needed whilst undergoing your new training regime.
What advice/tips would you give to someone who has plateaued with their fitness journey?
If you have found you have hit a wall and aren’t seeing any changes then mix up your training routine! Your body will get used to the same exercises so you may not get the results you are after as quick as you’d like so mix it up with a new routine. If you are trying to shift stubborn fat then try HIIT as this is an effective form of cardiovascular exercise and will help shift that belly fat.
