How to Create a Box Advent Calendar

Last year I made the children their own Advent Calendar and this year I wanted to make it again – but slightly different.

This year I have opted for 2 Calendars.

The first one being this fab Box Advent Calendar – and it’s so simple to make!

For this you’ll need: How to Create a Box Advent Calendar

  • Card Paper
  • A box template – you can download mine {here} for FREE!
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Tissue Paper
  • Sweets / Candy
  • Pen

First off – print out the box template. All 24 of them! I added a little Red circle to the template so you can pop the number on the box.

Next was cutting out the boxes. This was a little time-consuming but once I got in to a pattern, it wasn’t so bad.

How to Create a Box Advent Calendar I decided to put little fun Facts and Christmas Joke’s inside each box. The fact or joke is written on the lid section – and the answer to the joke was written on the bottom.  If you would like a copy of my list – you can download it {here}. On the 24th, I give the children a special box containing new PJ’s, a DVD, treats etc – hence why it say’s “Ask Mummy for a Special Surprise”.

I then glued the box edges together and made sure they were securely closed before popping  in  a little tissue paper and some sweeties (I got the sweets cheap as they were Halloween stock!!).

To make sure that the boxes didn’t fall open – I also glued the lid down, popping a little glue on the lid tabs and pressing securely.

And Voila! There you have it.

Your very own Box Advent Calendar!
