How to Increase Blog Page views

Increasing you Blog Post viewsEvery blogger dreams of having that popular blog, of being known for their awesome blogging.

I often see bloggers asking how to increase their blog reach, how to get more readers and how to get their blog seen.

Blogging isn’t an exact science – or maybe it is and there is a super secret formula that I am unaware of.

However, what I do know is that there are a few ways to increase your traffic, to grow your readership and to increase those visitors!

Here are my Top Five Tips on How to Increase Blog Page views:

1. Content

Write good, quality, unique content. Whenever I see new bloggers asking the question “how can I drive people to my blog” or “how can I get PR’s/Brands interested in my blog”, my answer is always this. Writing good, quality, content will automatically draw people to what you write. They will keep coming back because the love the content you are producing and want to read more. There is nothing wrong with following the crowd sometimes – but make sure you develop your own writing style and your own voice.

2. Join in with Linky’s

Linky’s or Link Parties are a great way of getting people to your blog and read your posts. There are loads of great linky’s out there run by Brits and American’s (check out my Blog Link Up Post here). Have a look at some of the linky’s that are out there and join in with the ones that you feel will suit your blog posts best. You don’t have to join in every week, although the more times you join in the better. You often find that the host of the Linky will promote your posts out to their readers too, therefore your post reaching a wider audience. It also gets people commenting on your blog – which leads me to….

3. Comment on other Blogs

Commenting on other blogs is crucial if you want people to pop over and have a look at your blog. Try to put some time aside to read blogs and try to find new blogs to read. Again, the above Linky’s are great to find new blogs. Don’t forget to reply to those who leave comments on your blog. Even if it’s just a “Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment”. Everyone likes to feel appreciated and after all, they have taken time out to read your post and the time to comment on it!

4. Promote posts via Social Media

Social Media is a great way to get your posts seen. You have the usual platforms of Facebook and Twitter, but don’t forget to use other platforms such as Pinterest, Instagram, StumbleUpon, Google+, Tumblr and Reddit. Try not to push your posts too much. Space them out throughout the day. It is recommended to push a post around 3 times a day, for a week. I tend to push my new posts for this, and add in a couple of older posts too. Tip: If you are a WordPress blogger, the plugin ‘Tweet Old Post’ is great for getting your older posts pushed out on to Twitter.

5. SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)

You don’t have to be a genius to figure out Search Engine Optimisation. There are plugins to help with SEO for your blog. It is all about using keywords that people search for in order to drive traffic to your blog. Not all posts require high SEO, but it can be handy for those posts that you want to be seen and searched for more often.

BONUS TIP:

Join Blogging Networks

Joining a blogging network can really help to grow your audience. Don’t just stick to the UK blogging networks. Check out other blogging networks in other countries. Most allow people to join from other countries, and this will help your blog reach a new set of readership!

Really useful post, thankfully I’m on the ball with most of it. I’ve never really promoted my blog to other countries, but I can see how it would increase readership.
