Lunch Box Notes for Kids including FREE Printable’s!
Sometimes life gets in the way and you can become stuck in a rut – doing the same things over and over. Never feeling like anything is getting better, that nothing is changing and it’s the same boring mundane thing day in day out.
Our half term break wasn’t the greatest and if I’m honest I found that I spent most days shouting at the children and becoming disheartened with their behavior. This in turn got me down for acting that way towards them and the more down I got, the more they seemed to act up. It became a vicious circle.
When they went back to school after half term, I decided to change things.
I should be telling the children more good things, praising them and telling them how great they are instead of constantly reprimanding them.
Sometimes I struggle with saying things face to face. I’ve never really experienced praise myself so struggle to give it – although I am desperately trying to change this as I know how good it feels to receive praise, especially to a child.
But for now, because I do struggle, I thought I’d pop little notes in their lunches instead.
I found some inspiration on Pinterest and decided to make my own notes for them.
The kids love getting notes in their packed lunches. They can be anything from a fun fact, a joke to a note telling them how awesome they are!
The first day I did it, the children came out of school and the first thing Kyla said was “I got the note you gave me. Can you do it again”. She was so pleased telling me how she had shown her friends that her Mama had put a little note in her lunch box. Jake seemed chuffed too – although he’s doesn’t really do ’emotions’.
So because I love making the notes so much and my kids really love enjoying them I thought I’d turn the notes I made in to free printable’s for you to download and use for your kids (just click on the image to download).
Please, feel free to download and print them off and why not let me know how you get on. I’d love to hear from you.
