Early on Tuesday June 2nd, I will be making my way to Gatwick airport with a friend. We will be boarding a plane to Turkey, where we will be spending a night at the Kervansaray Hotel in Marmaris before heading on to a rather luxurious gulet for a week.

But fear not! We will not just be sitting there sunning ourselves in the mediterranean heat, we will be having a full on adventure, because as you can tell by the title, this is a Fitness voyage!

About Mediterranean Delights Fitness Voyage

Mediterranean Delights Fitness Voyage is a personal retreat run by a group of friends who have a passion for fitness and travel.

The gulet that we will be staying on is called The Muhtesem, and was launched in 2013 – so is very new! She is a Turkish boat with a crew of 4 and offers 8 well designed cabins with air conditioning and private bathrooms. Spacious throughout, there is a large forward deck space with alfresco dining and seating, and a sunning area.

As well as spending time on the gulet, we will also be doing various activities including;

  • Hiking
  • Swimming
  • Backgammon lessons with raki and ouzo tasting
  • Evening fitness
  • Movie nights
  • Morning yoga
  • Water Sports
  • Belly Dancing
  • Hamam experience

We also have a night out planned for our last night! How fab is that?!?

I am so looking forward to this trip – if not a little scared. I have never been away from the children or Paul for so long (except when I spent 5 weeks in hospital when pregnant with Abigail, but they still came to see me every few days) – so it will be tough on all of us.

I am worried how Paul will manage trying to run his business whilst looking after four very lively children – and think he is concerned I won’t return.

I worry how Zachary will handle me being away for so long as we are very close.

But, on the other hand, I am excited to experience something new. I have never been on a gulet before and have never visited Turkey or Greece – although I did go to Crete back in 2002 and loved it there. And, I have never done the whole ‘girly’ holiday thing!

I love new experiences though – and this fitness voyage sounds right up my street – and can’t wait to tell you all about it when I return!

I will be snapping some pics whilst away and sharing them on my social media channels, so please feel free to follow me!

*Disclaimer – I was asked to be a guest on the gulet, and allowed to bring a friend for no charge. We have paid for our own flights, hotel and transfer.
