The other week the children and I were invited to the Everyman Cinema in Walton-on-Thames to a kids screening of the Moshi Monster movie.
Even though Walton is not far from us, and we are near there every saturday for Jake’s tennis lessons, it has been many many years since I went to the cinema there (I remember going there to watch Free Willy, that’s HOW long since I have been!!).
The cinema has changed so much! Gone are the hard chairs and sticky floors, replaced with comfy couches and cushions! It was so comfortable and felt like you were watching the film in the comfort of your own home.
There was even colouring pages and pens out for the children to do whilst they waited for the film to start, which I thought was great as kids can often get a little bored waiting so it’s good to have things for them to do!
Being Moshi Monster fans the children really enjoyed the film, although Abigail did fall asleep half way through (I am sure it was due to the comfy chair she was sitting on rather than the film!).
The film was full of all their favourite characters and had a good, engaging story line which captured their attention.
Overall, we had a lovely morning out. It’s not often that I take the 3 older children out on their own so it was good to spend some time with them.
I will definitely be returning to the Everyman Cinema, but think I may take the husband instead for a nice ‘date night’!
*Disclaimer – we were invited to the film watch the film at the Everyman Cinema at no cost.
