Last week Abigail, Zachary and myself went on a train ride to find out more about a new website called myKidsy.com.
What is myKidsy.com?
Founded by Yasmine Mahmoudieh with a vision to deliver the most rewarding and novel activities that will prepare children for the future and to get kids active and using their brainpower. myKidsy.com aims to provide innovative after school, weekend and holiday activities for kids whilst saving parents’ time on planning. More than just an activity finder, myKidsy helps parents steer their kids free time into educational fun. It is about finding the most novel and educational activities that go way beyond the music class in the neighbourhood. It’s about helping parents find trusted courses that will incentivise and motivate kids into hobbies and activities that will contribute to their further education and growth into becoming citizens of the future society.
myKidsy.com offers innovative afterschool, weekend and holiday programmes, primarily for London-based children, but is rapidly expanding across the UK and internationally. The site provides parents with a comprehensive directory of fun and engaging courses – activities range from art-sessions with famous illustrators, film-making, learning how to make robots fly, computer coding as well as an introduction to subjects as varied as philosophy, entrepreneurship and yoga.
I love the idea of myKidsy.com. It can often be gruelling, traipsing through various websites trying to find out about activities for kids to do in the school holiday’s, after school or at weekends.
The website is very easy to navigate and there are plenty of different types of activities depending on interest and ages.
Being just outside of London where a lot of the activities are based at the moment, it’s hard for us commit to anything afterschool or weekends, but there are lists of things to do in the holidays – so I have been looking up a few things for the impending Summer Break that is approaching rather fast!
I will definitely be checking the website out more often, to check for more local clubs and activities for the children. I think Jake would really enjoy the ‘Coding Club’ which is currently being run at Google Campus – it’s just a shame it’s a bit of a journey for us to make!
There is an option on the website to tell myKidsy.com about your secret place – your favourite place to go with your kids in your city. What would your secret place be? Why not head over to the website and tell them.
