Night Terrors

Last night we experienced something I NEVER want to experience again! It was horrid and scary.

We experienced our very first Night Terror. We’ve never been through one before with J and K, but last night A had one.

She woke around 2am screaming for no reason. She was in our bed but she sat bolt upright screaming “Mum”. I tried to comfort her but couldn’t. P tried to console her but couldn’t. It was as if she couldn’t see or hear us. For 30 minutes she screamed. It scared P so much that he was considering taking her down to A&E.

Then she just stopped screaming. As quickly as it had started she stopped. She kept pointing to something in the doorway and clapping. After another 30 minutes of chattering to whatever she could see (and she got off the bed for a quick investigation), she returned and went back to sleep.

She slept until gone 9am this morning and seems as right as rain. P and I however are shattered!

I never want to experience a night terror again!

I RT’d you thinking I’d just commented, but it was another post I had coincidentally read just this morning! I put a lengthy comment on there about our own experiences so I’ll tweet you the link. We actually dialled 999 the first time it happened to GG, it was that scary. It was like she was awake, but blind! Horrid!

Thank you for the link, I have left them a comment.

We were considering taking her to A&E as it was like she couldn’t see or hear us and nothing would console this horrid painful scream and as she doesn’t talk she couldn’t tell us what was wrong.

I’m just glad it stopped and she has woken up her normal bright cheery self.

Weve already had this with ophelia and find it SO SCARY! i still suffer with them myself so it’s hard to see she has them too. Apparently it’s to do with their creative side being stronger than their reasoning side.

I am grateful that we haven’t experienced them that often! Must be so scary for you to witness often! Do you ever remember your night terrors?
