The girls recently got the chance to review the Butterbee Cottage Dolls House and accessories from Big Game Hunters.
About Butterbee Cottage
Butterbee Cottage is a beautifully painted wooden dolls house with three spacious floors including a fun attic area, and even includes pretty fabric curtains. The large opening front panels include opening window shutters with beautiful heart details and hand-painted flower motifs. The front door will give the dolls a warm welcome with a pretty scalloped porch roof and there’s even a letter box so the dolls can collect their post!
Both roof panels simply lift off and can be placed on top of each other on either side, or removed completely, making it easy for little hands to play in the attic space. The attic features two dormer windows and two side windows, making even the roof feel bright and spacious. The side panels include three windows that are adorned by removable flower trays. Inside this cosy cottage, each window is furnished with beautiful pink and white chequered fabric curtains that hang from durable string rails, and these are already secured into place.
Assembly is wonderfully simple and takes just minutes; each panel slots together securely with no screws or glue needed. All features such as the letter box, porch, shutters, curtains and discreet hinges are already in place – so just the walls, floors and roof need slotting together.
The girls have had dolls houses in the past, but to be honest, they haven’t lasted very long. They were a pain to put together and poorly made.
The Butterbee Cottage Dolls House arrived in a large box, with the accessories arriving in a separate box. The box itself was quite heavy, which I rather like because it usually means that it’s made of better quality wood.
Within the outer box, there was an inner box which housed all of the house components.
They were all wrapped really well in bubble wrap and cardboard. I removed all the pieces, unwrapped them and got to work.
The instructions were very simple to understand.
I love how all the pieces just slot together. You need to screw the two top dormer windows to the roof, but that is it. It literally took me around 10 minutes to get it set up – and it was so easy that I could have given it to girls to set up!
I was really impressed with the quality of Butterbee Cottage and how much had gone in to the appearance and intricate detailing of the flowers and letterbox, and the sweet addition of curtains on the windows. It’s bright and colourful inside and out and just oozes quality.
The sets are very well made and cleverly thought out.
The children’s bedroom set features a bunk bed with separate ladder, bedding, a small drawer set with pull out drawers, lamp, table, books, rug and even a wigwam style tent!
The living room furniture is just as cute with its sofa, two armchairs, cushions, rug, fireplace, lamp, table, tea set and house plant.
This has to be one of the nicest dolls houses that we have had. The doll’s house is exceptionally spacious and a decent size. I also love how the roof works. You can either completely remove the roof panels, of they fold back so you can easily access that area and not have to worry about the lid snapping down on to little fingers.
