Yesterday we headed down towards Somerset, to break up our journey to Devon.
We stayed at The Green Room in Yeovil, which is a real quant little hotel.
Being a family of 6, we have to get 2 rooms and we ended up with rooms in different parts of the hotel.
The room the girls, baby and I were in was a cute little room full of character and charm.
After a good nights sleep and a lovely continental breakfast, we headed off to meet the lovely Elizabeth from MommaTwo and her gorgeous boys. The children had a wonderful time playing together whilst the grown ups had a chat. Considering we’ve only met a few times at blogging conferences, it was like catching up with an old friend – which is really nice.
Elizabeth recommended we visit The Tank Museum in Bovington, so we headed off there for the afternoon.
The children had loads of fun. They made and painted wooden tanks, as well as learning lots of stuff about the different types of tanks.
I seriously didn’t know there were so many! It was amazing to see how they had changed over the years too.
We spent several hours there and the children didn’t get bored – there is that much to see.
We would really recommend taking the children there for a visit if you live or ever visit Dorset. I’m not that big on military museums, but I get dragged round a fair few, especially military aircraft museums, but the tanks and their history were fascinating.
We really had a wonderful day!
Tomorrow we head up to the cottage in Devon. We can’t wait!
