Trespass Women’s Scour Grey Walking Boots

The last time I wore a pair of walking boots was about 20 years ago when I was on a school trip to the Yorkshire Dales. I remember having to break them in for a few weeks before hand, and having to wear some pretty thick, itchy hiking socks to go with them. The boots themselves were heavy and fairly uncomfortable.

I haven’t done much walking that warrants such boots since then. I mean, I have been on long treks since then, but have always stuck to trainers or welly’s, which probably haven’t been as ideal.

However, I knew that there was going to be hiking involved on my recent trip to Turkey and Greece, so when Trespass asked if I would like to try some of their walking boots, I thought I’d give them a go.

I opted for the women’s Scour walking boots which were said to be strong, durable and reliable, as well as both waterproof and breathable – something which is essential, especially in warmer weather. Made with a robust rubber grip sole, they are great for keeping balance and grip when walking on uneven surfaces.

As well as being breathable, the outer material also benefits from a mesh fabric in the upper section, which allows in fresh air and helps maintain that comfortable feeling. The boots have also been coated in a specially designed Tres-tex membrane which helps repel moisture so your feet don’t get all hot and sweaty.

When I was looking for a suitable pair of boots, I was rather surprised at the different styles of walking boots that you can get. The dashes of green on the heel, ankle, hooks and logo was what really attracted me to the Scour boots. Who knew that practical boots could be stylish?!

I was surprised once again when the boots arrived at how lightweight they actually are as I was expecting a pair of chunky, heavy boots. They are very comfortable too. Instead of hiking socks I opted to wear just a standard pair of thick sport socks instead, and found that these worked just as well. The boots feel like they are molded to your feet. I purposely opted for a size bigger also, so this may have helped with the fit. My reasoning was to allow room for a thicker sock, and even though they are breathable, I knew I would be walking in the heat, so wanted something that was going to allow a little bit of room if my feet did swell slightly. I am glad that I made that choice as I had no problems whatsoever!

I briefly broke the boots in on a local trip to the woods, but other than that, I didn’t do much walking in them until they were needed – and no blisters were suffered!

Overall, I am really pleased with the Trespass Scour women’s walking boots. They are stylish, comfortable, and do exactly what they are intended to! I can’t wait to use them again, and will be planning more hikes.
