When illness strikes

How do you manage when your whole family is struck down with illness?

We’re normally lucky that neither myself or P get struck down at the same time.

The past week, everyone (except J who seems to always avoid illness) have been struck down.

It started on Tuesday when I got a terrible migraine. P said he would collect the older 2 from school so I took A and Z up to bed with me and we all slept for about 3hrs. I felt slightly better but the next day a head cold started.

As the week wore on, I started feeling worse and worse, until I was struck with an upset stomach on Saturday. Thankfully it wasn’t long lasting and now I’m left with a hacking cough and a slight dizzy feeling.

P came down with it all at the weekend, Z has developed a cough, A has a cough and cold and K has been in bed since Sunday evening. This afternoon she was sick after her nap.

I really hope this goes soon as I don’t like feeling ill. I feel lazy and don’t want to do anything, but the house is a wreck.

How do you cope when you’re ill in your house? Do you have someone to help so you can rest or do you fight on through?

If I was to be ill the whole household would collapse. I had Trigeminal Neuralgia last year and my mum had to help oit. My husband has arthritis of the hips and my eldest is disabled, so with our two toddlers its pretty important that I am fit and well. X

It’s always the women who struggle through isn’t it. It’s good to have someone to be able to help you out when you need it. You sound like a very busy lady!
