I have always been drawn to the idea that so many of the plants growing quietly around us have stories, traditions, and uses that people have carried forward for generations. Some are familiar garden herbs, others are plants we might walk past without a second thought, but learning to recognize them and understand how they have traditionally been used has given me an entirely different appreciation for the plants I grow and gather.
My apothecary has grown slowly alongside that curiosity. It is a place for jars of dried herbs, tinctures steeping on the shelf, infused oils waiting patiently, salves being stirred, and plenty of notes from everything I am still learning along the way. I enjoy understanding not only what an herb has been used for, but how it is prepared, why one method might be chosen over another, and how to work with plants thoughtfully and responsibly.
Around The Apothecary, I’ll share the herbs I use and learn about, the traditional knowledge behind them, the preparations I make, and the practical skills that help bring it all together.
